I am a big fan of learning with Ustadha Rukayat, masha Allah. I’ve attended presentations with her and I always come away astounded at the vast wealth of knowledge, teachings, and wisdom of the heroes, laid out so clearly by Ustadha Rukayat.

Thank you so much for offering this wonderful course! The organization of the course is fantastic and you handle the kids really well mashaAllah. It’s really enjoyable to listen to the sessions pitched at this age range.

I have enjoyed learning something new with my children and focused on character cultivation with my family in this time of so many different and difficult occurrences. It’s critical that we learn this history, remember it, and be inspired in a fun way! I really love the maps- both modern-day images and historic images. We keep learning about how big this world is and I hadn’t pulled out an actual globe for teaching in a moment until these types of courses were taught and available to families at a quality and affordable amount.

My class is so excited to embark on our journey exploring the lives of Muslim American Heroes with Sr Rukayat!  I am gaining knowledge along with my students as we uncover the unknown stories of these Muslim Heroes! This is the second time Sr Rukayat is enriching our lives and the learning experience of the children at Medina Montessori.  Sr. Rukayat blessed us with an “Author Visit” a few years ago.  The children loved their personalized copies of her interactive  workbook on the life of “Ahmadu  Bamba, The Sage of Senegal.” And enjoyed hearing her impressionistic stories of his life.  Rukayat Yakub is a gifted storyteller and educator.

Though I have a love of history, it has been a challenge to create the same love for the subject in my children. The “Let’s Explore the Life of Shakhya Nana Asma’u” program did exactly that. My girls came away not only with knowledge of Shaykha Nana’s amazing life but also feeling connected to her through her story and the engaging activities prepared by Sister Rukayat. We look forward to future programs!
